Russian-Jewish composer and teacher (1883–1957). Rare ALS in Cyrillic, one page, lightly-lined, 5 x 7.75, May 15, 1933. Letter to Yuri Leopoldovich, in full [translated]: “I hope you didn’t take offense that we didn’t succeed to meet. I was really touched by the kind memory about me shown in the fact that you have tried to find me. I have asked about you many times and was upset that you gave up music. I hope we will see each other next time. Today I have to be in several places and I can’t stay in Leningrad any longer—even for one day—Nadezhda Tovievna is seriously sick and I need to get back home.” Addressed on the reverse by Gnessin, who signs his name again. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
