Andy Callahan

Boxer (1910–1944) from Lawrence, Massachusetts who was the only fighter to ever simultaneously hold the New England lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight titles; he was killed in action during World War II at the Battle of Monte Cassino in Italy, posthumously receiving the Purple Heart and the Presidential Unit Citation. Vintage matte-finish 15.5 x 19.5 full-length photo of Callahan in a pugilistic pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To my good friend ‘Tex’ Wiseman, sincerely yours, Andy Callahan,” and signed again on the left side, “Andy Callahan.” Framed and in fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
