Samuel Webb

Revolutionary War general (1753–1807) who commanded a company of light infantry and took part in the Battle of Bunker Hill before serving under Israel Putnam and George Washington. Revolutionary War–dated manuscript DS, signed “Saml B. Webb Col., 3rd Connec’t Regt.,” and “Signed in my presence, S. B. Webb,” one page, 8.25 x 7.75, December 25, 1781. Webb certifies “that Hezekiah Catlin served in my Regiment…Please to deliver the Bearer the notes due for my service in the Connec’t Line Continental Army.” Signed twice by Webb and countersigned by Catlin. In very good condition, with irregularly trimmed edges. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
