In full: “It gives me great pleasure to comply with your request, and to enclose you the autograph you desire. Some weeks ago I called at your hotel, but was not so fortunate as to find you. I shall take the liberty of calling again in the course of the week, and hope I shall be so fortunate as to find you at home. Meanwhile be kind enough, Dear Madam, to accept my regrets and regards, and believe me.” A partial separation to intersecting folds, slight scattered soiling, and a rough left edge, otherwise fine condition.
