Description

Diverse collection of items signed by a wide range of authors and other notable figures, including three books and five album pages, including: hardcover trilingual edition of Bruchstucke [Fragments] by Samuel Beckett, signed on the title page in black felt tip; hardcover edition of Der Bogen des Odysseus [The Bow of Odysseus] by Gerhart Hauptmann, signed and inscribed on the first page in fountain pen; hardcover limited edition of Strange Interlude by Eugene O’Neill, numbered 522/775, signed on the colophon in fountain pen; and five album pages of various sizes signed on both sides in fountain pen by a variety of figures. Most notable is a page headed by journalist John Gunther, who signs, “John Gunther, with salutations to...my favorite head waiter and collaborator, Wien Sept. ‘36” (the year he published Inside Europe). Other notable signers include: novelist Fannie Hurst; writer Irvin S. Cobb; explorer Alexandra David Neel; choreographer Grete Wiesenthal; conductor Karl Alwin; philosopher Eduard Spranger; dramatist Ferenc Molnar; actress Sari Molnar Fedak; actor Fritz Grunbaum; dramatist Georg Kaiser; director Max Reinhardt; actress Lucy Kieselhausen; actor Otto Schmole; and actress Charlotte Auder. In overall very good to fine condition. Quite an interesting collection highlighted by the three books signed by winners of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
