Winner’s medal issued for the Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics. Silver, 60 mm, 154 gm, by Giuseppe Cassioli, Ottawa. The front, inscribed, “XXIe Olympiade Montreal 1976,” features a ‘Seated Victory’ with the Coliseum in the background; the reverse features the Montreal Olympic emblem and victor’s laurel wreath. Complete with original silver chain. An exceptionally rare example in comparison to other Olympics, there were only 364 silver winner’s medals produced for the Montreal 1976 Games.
