Saturn V Third Stage (S-IVBO) Gaseous Hydrogen Vent Line Airborne Disconnect made by Fairchild Stratos Corporation, measuring approximately 4″ tall and 9″ in diameter, with a metal George C. Marshall Space Flight Center tag reading, “Disconnect, Airborne, Vent Line, Gaseous Hydrogen, Assy. No. 64-522, DAC Spec 1A48848-505E, Contr. No. NAS7-101, Ser. No. 0104, Date 8/65.” In fine condition, with various adhesive remnants and soiling. The disconnect was mounted on the flight vehicle (airborne component) as an interface coupling with the ground supplied hydrogen vent line. The vent line offloaded excess hydrogen gas from the Saturn upper stage prior to launch, routing the gas to a burn pond.
