Frederick as “Additional Second Lieutenant in the Tenth Regiment of Infantry in the service of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by President Hayes and countersigned by Secretary of War George W. McCrary. Slight wear to the intact blue seal affixed to the upper left. In fine condition, with intersecting storage folds (one horizontal fold passing through the first three letters of the signature), slight scattered soiling, and a few holes along top edge.
