Two items: an ink signature, “Many thanks, kind letter, Lillie Langtry,” on an off-white 5.5 x 3.5 postcard from the Midland Hotel in Manchester, postmarked November 6, 1917; and an untranslated ALS in German, signed “Jenny Goldschmidt Lind,” one onionskin page, 8.25 x 10.5, July 8, 1852. In overall very good condition, with irregular ink adhesion and trivial brushing to portions of the inscription and signature, and slight toning and wear to edges to the Langtry signature, and partial separations to intersecting folds (a horizontal fold passing just above the signature), several tears and small areas of paper loss (affecting a couple letters in her surname), and scattered staining and creasing to the Lind letter.
