Alfred Cortot

Franco-Swiss pianist and conductor (1877–1962) known for his Romantic period piano works, particularly those of Chopin and Schumann, and considered one of the most renowned 20th-century classical musicians. Uncommon 3.75 x 5.5 magazine photo of Cortot seated with crossed legs at his desk, signed in fountain pen, “Alf. Cortot, 1927.” Mounting remnants to reverse, a horizontal fold at chin level, and a slight crease to lower left corner, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
