Scarce District Bank Limited check, 8 x 4, filled out in another hand and signed by Lennon, payable to Moor House Secretaries for £25, stamp-dated March 6, 1972. Encapsulated in a plastic PSA/DNA authentication holder. Unobtrusive vertical and horizontal folds passing through the signature, filing and tack holes to top edge, and expected bank stamps (trivially affecting the first name), otherwise fine condition. In stark contrast to the wildly popular Imagine released the previous year, Lennon’s third post-Beatles album Some Time In New York City was universally panned by critics for its overtly political and provocative themes and lyrics.
