ALS, one page, 4.5 x 7, De Vere Gardens letterhead, May 14, 1890. Letter to John Gwyn, in full: “I cannot thank you sufficiently for your kindness in presenting me with your copy of Shakespeare, which I shall ever retain as a souvenir from yourself, and shall value accordingly. In your kind expressions of myself, as well as for your gift, I beg you to accept my thanks.” In fine condition, with erased pencil notations and some scattered soiling (most notably to lower portion).
