Large assemblage of items related to the Space Shuttle program, primarily consisting of manuals, including: a screw post-bound manual entitled “Space Shuttle Landing Site Charts,” featuring area and runway charts for the six proposed landing sites of STS–3, dated January 1982, 8.5 x 10.5, signed on the front cover in black felt tip, “Jack Lousma, Cmdr STS–3, March 22–3-, 1982”; a pair of official color NASA lithographs, 8 x 10 and 10 x 8, honoring the ill-fated Challenger crew of 51–L; an STS-51L crew memorial service program, 5 x 8, dated February 1, 1986; a special USPS and NASA STS–8 flight cover with accompanying 8.25 x 11 presentation folder; a staple-bound final flight plan manual for SRS–106, entitled “Mission Operations Directorate Operations Division,” dated August 10, 2000, 8.5 x 11, approximately 218 pages; a staple-bound shuttle flight operations manual, entitled “Volume 6: Guidance, Navigation, and Control Hardware,” dated September 1985, 11 x 8.5, approximately 72 pages; a NASA folder containing numerous items related to the Kennedy Space Center and the Space Shuttle program, with a particular focus on STS-101, including: pamphlets, fact and biography sheets, information summaries, NASA newsletters, photos and lithographs, as well as mission stickers, commemorative covers, trading cards, and a Hubble Space Telescope pin; a pair of ring-bound MSC internal note manuals, “No. 70–FM–114” and “No. 71–FM–416,” entitled “Approach and Landing Considerations for an Unpowered Orbiter” and “Landing Characteristics of Three Shuttle Configurations,” dated July 31, 1970, and December 6, 1971; a ring-bound division internal note manual, entitled “Landing Airfields Selection with Implicit Designs and Operations for Shuttle Orbiters,” dated May 15, 1970, 8 x 10.5, twenty-four pages; a staple-bound flight plan manual for STS–95, entitled “(FRR Trajectory) Mission Operations Directorate Operations Division,” dated September 25, 1998, approximately 174 pages; and a modern three-ring binder holding a Department of Defense Managers manual, entitled “Space Shuttle Support Procedures Document,” dated May 15, 1983, and an extensive manual concerning “Crash and Rescue Information” for the Space Shuttle Orbiter, dated March 1982, In overall fine condition, with scattered wear, soiling, and small edge tears.
