Fascinating collection of early X-15 ephemera, primarily consisting of pamphlets, reports, and booklets, including: four issues of the NASA Flight Center X-Press newsletter, dated from 1956–1963 (two identical), and a pair of additional X-Press flyers; a 1962 technical report entitled “Technical Note D-1402: Operational Experience and Characteristics of the X-15 Flight Control System”; five 1963–1964 flight request documents for X-15 tests by Milton O. Thompson; typed ‘pilot questionnaire’ and ‘flight comment’ reports by Thompson; a carbon copy of an X-15 weight analysis document; four mimeographed NASA X-15 Research Planning Office memos from 1964; two glossy photos; a lobby card for the 1961 film X-15; and a report on exploratory flight tests published in 1981. In overall very good to fine condition, with toning to documents and tears to photos.
