Fourth and final president of the Republic of Texas (1798–1858), sometimes referred to as the ‘Architect of Annexation.’ Unsigned matte-finish 3.25 x 4.25 portrait of Jones, affixed to its original 4.5 x 5.75 mount. Reverse of mount bears collector’s pencil notations. Slight toning and soiling, and some adhesive remnants to corners, otherwise fine condition. Provenance: The Robert Davis Collection.
