Remarkable oversized original comic artwork by Mort Drucker entitled “The Right Stiff,” circa 1984, accomplished in pen and ink on seven sheets of approximately 20 x 24 artist’s cardstock, signed in the main panel by Drucker. The MAD comic follows “Chuck Yayger,” “Scott Carpentry,” “Alan Schlepper,” “Gus Gruesome,” and “Wally Hurrah” in a parody of the development of America’s space program. In overall fine condition, with expected marks and wear from production use. Each sheet bears an affixed Sotheby’s label. The comic appears to have been published in the June 1984 issue of MAD Magazine. An amazing set of the artwork for all seven pages of a comic that combines two iconic elements of American culture—MAD magazine and the space program. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
