English painter (1802–1873) best known for his animal-inspired artwork; his most famous works are the lion sculptures in Trafalgar Square. ALS signed “E. Landseer,” one page both sides, 5 x 7.75, February 4, 1885. In part: “I am sorry to give you so much trouble…I expect Lee here at 2 to accompany me as far as Mr. Sheepshank’s house.” Two areas of paper loss to top edge and trivial soiling to right edge, otherwise fine condition.
