American general in the Revolutionary War and a delegate in the Continental Congress (1740–1795) who served as governor of New Hampshire and commanded the Sullivan Expedition in 1779. A light horizontal fold (passing through the top of the surname), a closely cropped top edge, and trivial soiling, otherwise fine condition.
