Elie Metchnikoff

Russian biologist and zoologist (1845–1916) best known for his pioneering research into the immune system for which he was awarded the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Rare ink signature, “Elie Metchnikoff,” on an off-white 4.25 x 2.75 slip dated at Paris, September 4, 1909. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a small modern photo of the scientist. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
