Tobias Asser

Dutch lawyer and legal scholar (1838–1913) who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1911 for his role in the formation of the Permanent Court of Arbitration at the First Hague Conference. Manuscript DS in German, signed “T. M. C. Asser,” one page, 8.25 x 6.5, December 13, 1899. Untranslated official document retaining its original paper seal and string affixed to the left of Asser’s signture. A central vertical fold, scattered toning and soiling, and some slight dampstaining to the bottom edge, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
