Uncommon color semi-glossy 10 x 8 photo of the Space Shuttle Challenger, signed in various ink types by seven members of the Rogers Commission, including: William P. Rogers, Neil Armstrong, Richard Feynman, Eugene E. Covert, Sally Ride, Albert D. Wheelon, and Robert W. Rummel. In fine condition. In the aftermath of the Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986, President Reagan organized the Rogers Commission to determine why the STS-51–L spacecraft exploded a mere 73 seconds after liftoff. Led by former Secretary of State and Attorney General William P. Rogers, the commission concluded their findings on June 9, 1986, confirming that the accident was caused by O-ring failure on the right solid rocket booster. In addition to the inclusion of Armstrong, this exceptional photograph is highlighted by the presence of Feynman, a theoretical physicist whose unorthodox methods not only led to the discovery of the O-ring malfunction, but likewise unveiled the ongoing miscommunication between NASA management and engineers.
