Continental Army officer (1740–1823) known for leading the Meigs Raid against the British forces in Sag Harbor, New York. Partly-printed DS, signed “Return Jona. Meigs,” one page, 8.25 x 13, May 18, 1785. Deed in which Meigs, for the “Consideration of One hundred and forty five pounds Lawfull money,” sells to John Adkins a plot of twenty-two acres of land in Middletown, Connecticut. In very good condition, with partial edge separations at folds, chipping and small tears to edges, scattered staining, and show-through from docketing to reverse. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
