Description

John Ruskin

Influential English art critic and writer (1819–1900). ALS signed “JR,” one page, 4.5 x 7, no date. In full: “Please see about the Frame yourself—but there must be no black in it. I cannot use this shield, on account of the twisted crosses which public won’t like. There is no more time now, so I have sent off a common sketch of my own which must do—but many thanks always. I will call as soon as I can. I have not forgotten Stodhart neither.” In very good condition, with a tape-repaired tear to right portion, scattered foxing, and some light mirroring to the ink. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
