Charles Thomson

Patriot leader (1729–1824) in Philadelphia during the American Revolution and the secretary of the Continental Congress throughout its existence. Although a lesser-known revolutionary, Thomson was the only person to sign the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence along with John Hancock. Ink signature, “Cha. Thomson,” on an off-white 3.5 x 1.5 slip. Affixed to a larger off-white sheet. Two vertical folds passing through letters of the signature, scattered toning, and light soiling, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
