Unique vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Bogart and Bacall on a ship’s deck with assistant director Al Murphy, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to Murphy, “Good luck, Humphrey Bogart” and “To Murphy—with happy memories of ‘Blood Alley,’ many thanks, Lauren Bacall.” In very good condition, with light bends and creases, and poor ink adhesion to much of Bogart’s signature. Bacall starred alongside John Wayne in the 1955 film Blood Alley, an exotic seafaring adventure set in China. This is a particularly appropriate photograph, presumably taken on set during production, as the ship itself drives the movie’s plot. Bogart and Bacall are uncommon together on signed photos, and the additional cinematic association enhances this piece even further. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
