Irish actor who appeared in productions of John Drinkwater’s Abraham Lincoln in England in 1918 and 1919. Crystal-clear matte-finish 8 x 11.5 photo of Rea in his role as Abraham Lincoln, signed and inscribed in the borders in fountain pen, “To A. E. Drinkwater, With all kind thoughts, Sincerely, William J. Rea.” Affixed to a same-size mount. Toned adhesive remnants to lower left and a bit of silvering to dark areas of the image, otherwise fine condition. This was most likely inscribed to a family member of the playwright.
