Letter to famed American diplomat Elihu Burritt, in part: “I have just had the pleasure of receiving your friendly greeting, and hasten to say how glad I shall be to see you again after your long absence. You will find me at home every afternoon and evening, except Saturday, when I usually go to Boston. The mornings are not as certain as I am generally engaged during the early part of the day.” Framed with a window on the reverse to view the second and third pages to an overall size of 9.5 x 7.75.
