Letter to Eben Vaughn, in full: “It has occurred to me that the inclosed verses, which appeared in the Daily News of today, might serve you for a recitation. Many thanks for your pleasant telegram and here’s wishing you and yours long life and a superabundance of happiness; in which wish I am now joined most cordially by my family.” Intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), trimmed edges, several small tape-repaired tears, and some scattered toning, otherwise fine condition.
