Color vintage 5.75 x 3.75 Quantas Airline postcard showing a sunset along a Singapore fishing village, signed on the reverse in blue ballpoint, “John Lennon” and “George Harrison.” Collector’s notation to upper right indicates a date of February 15, 1968. In fine condition, with trivial toning to edges. According to a previous listing, these signatures were obtained by a Quantas pilot when Lennon, Harrison, and their wives famously flew from London to India on February 2, 1968, to study Transcendental Meditation under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. McCartney and Starr joined them in Rishikesh shortly thereafter. None of the Beatles finished the course as intended and returned to London after becoming disillusioned with the Maharishi. However, it was a productive trip in that it inspired several songs that appeared on the White Album, including ‘Dear Prudence,’ ‘Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?,’ and ‘Sexy Sadie.’ Pre-certified REAL.
