Desirable letter to a thoroughbred breeder

TLS signed “Winston S. Churchill,” one page, 7.25 x 9, Chartwell letterhead, November 7, 1960. Letter to Major A. E. Carey Foster, a veterinarian and breeder of thoroughbred horses. In full: “I hereby authorise you to make an offer for any property which you consider suitable and fit as married quarters for one or two families of Stud employees.” Nicely double-matted and framed with an image of Churchill to an overall size of 18 x 14.5. In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds. Churchill was quite fond of horses, and after World War I he intervened to secure the safe return of tens of thousands of war horses stranded in Europe. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
