Typed memorandum signed “FDR,” one page, 7 x 7.5, embossed State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead, November 6, 1929. Memo to his close friend, the philanthropist Basil O’Connor. In full: “This seems like a terrific expense but something has to be done about this sewage disposal. If you approve, send it on to Carp.” Double-matted and framed with a large color portrait of Roosevelt to an overall size of 25 x 19. In fine condition, with expected document wear. In 1927, Roosevelt partnered with O’Connor to develop the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation, a world-famous polio treatment center. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
