Pleased with “the attractive edition” of “the first volume of my Memoirs”

TLS signed “Winston S. Churchill,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, Chartwell letterhead, October 1948. Letter to Captain Bertil Sterner. In part: “Mr. Reves gave me a copy of your edition of the first volume of my Memoirs. I appreciate very much your efforts, and congratulate you upon the attractive edition you have produced in spite of the many difficulties in the publishing business. I hope your efforts will be rewarded by great success.” In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds, scattered creases, and filing holes to left edge. Sterner was the head of Messrs Skoglund Bokforlag, Churchill's Swedish publishers, who had just released their edition of The Gathering Storm, the first volume of Churchill’s important history of World War II. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
