French composer (1853–1929) best known for such light operas as La Basoche and Véronique. ALS in French, signed “A. Messager,” one page both sides, 6 x 7.5, July 5, 1915. Untranslated letter to a writer whose beautiful poems he had read. In very good condition, with a tear and paper loss to right edge, trivial soiling, and a rusty paperclip mark to top edge. Accompanied by an unsigned postcard photo of Messager. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
