AQS in German on an off-white 6 x 8 sheet, signed at the conclusion, “Ernst Haeckel, Jena 1. 11. 1909.” Haeckel pens a quote from chapter one of ‘Mystery.’ In part (translated): "Monism recognizes in the universe only one substance, God and Nature is at the same time. Body and Time (—or matter and energy—) are inextricably linked to them.” A small image of Haeckel with an event advertisement is affixed below.
