Description

Apollo 16

Set of four items: first, an original Apollo 16 Lunar Rover Vehicle Stowage list, 11 x 8.5, unbound, 13 pages, issued by NASA on January 21, 1972. In fine condition. Second, a glossy 10 x 8 photo of John Young leaping in the air as he salutes the American flag, matted to an overall size of 14 x 11, signed on the mat in black felt tip by Charlie Duke. The reverse of the photo bears a stamp that reads, “NASA authenticated by,” and signed in black felt tip by Duke. In fine condition. Provenance: Superior Auction, Fall 1998. Third, a satin-finish 40.5 x 8.5 panoramic photo of John Young and the lunar rover, with Spook Crater and Stone Mountain visible, signed in silver ink, “Charlie Duke, Apollo 16.” Rolled and in very fine condition. And fourth, a copy of Spaceport News from June 1, 1972, 9.5 x 12, 8 pages, signed at the top in black felt tip, “Charlie Duke, Apollo 16.” Staple holes and some foxing to the top, otherwise fine condition. The three signed items are pre-certified Zarelli Space Authentication.
