Souvenir typescript of Reagan’s “Veto of the Defense Authorization Bill,” one page both sides, 8.5 x 11, originally issued on August 6, 1988, signed and inscribed at the top in black felt tip, “Best wishes to you Dale, Ronald Reagan.” In part: “Recently, I took a dramatic step—one that I must admit gave me no pleasure. I vetoed the Defense Authorization Bill. As it stood, the defense bill that Congress sent me would have made unilateral concessions to the Soviets at the very moment when we are trying to achieve a strategic arms reduction treaty. I could not in good conscience have done anything other than mark that bill ‘veto’ and send it right back.” In fine condition, with two horizontal folds and light toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
