Queen Victoria

Manuscript DS, signed “Victoria R,” one page, 8 x 13, September 9, 1889. Military order submitted to General Sir Thomas Montagu Steele, colonel of the Coldstream Guards. In part: “Our will and pleasure is that you do cause the 1st Battalion of our Coldstream Guards to proceed from Wellington Barracks to the Tower of London…and the 2nd Battalion from Chelsea Barracks and St. George’s Barracks to Windsor.” Signed at the top by Queen Victoria and countersigned at the bottom by Secretary of State for War Edward Stanhope. In fine condition, with expected document wear and scattered soiling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
