National State Bank of Camden, New Jersey check, 6.25 x 2.5, filled out and signed by Whitman, “Walt Whitman,” payable for “Fifty Dollars,” November 12, 1887. In very good condition, with the printing on the check extremely faded but visible, a cancellation cut to the body affecting a letter of the payable amount and slightly affecting the first letter of the signature, and a bit of paper loss to the top edge; all of Whitman’s writing remains crisp and bold.
