Colorful American financier (1834–1872) who made his fortune on army contracts during the Civil War. He was shot and killed after becoming involved in a scandalous romantic triangle. Ink signature, “James Fisk, Jr,” on an off-white 3 x 1.75 card. In very good condition, with spreading to portions of the signature and a block of toning to left side. Accompanied by an unsigned three-quarter length carte-de-visite of Fisk by Rockwood photography. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
