Letter to Dr. Maguire, in full: “Thank you very much indeed for the trouble you have so kindly taken in answering my letter re Army Cadet School. I shall be very grateful if some day you could give me the results of your inquiries on the subject—& have a talk over it. I am going to Scotland for a fortnights leave (the first I have had since I returned from S. Africa!—& shall be in London in Nov. But meantime if you should hear any ideas, & could forward them to me addressed Horse Guard, Whitehall—they will be forwarded & I shall be very greatly obliged. I quite see the force of your remarks. I, like you, feel very despondent as regards the condition of England—and am only anxious to do any little thing I can to help get things righted.” A collector’s notation identifying Baden–Powell is penned at the top.
