ALS, one lightly-lined page, both sides, 5.75 x 9.25, Murray Hill Hotel letterhead, April 25, 1890. Letter to Kate, in part: “I shall try to find out who our advertising man is & tell him that as you publish other amusement ads, he ought to give your paper ours. Mr. Bailey my partner & manager dont allow much if any interference with his way of doing business—so if your people see that the show ad appears in any Washington paper and is not offered to your paper, please tell them to cut down our show ad, & publish it twenty five dollars worth, and if our show agent dont pay it—send bill to me at Bridgeport & I will pay…I have no doubt your article will be a stunner as everything is from your pen, but nothing will sell at our show that dont have something that will interest them for the moment. We have tried it repeatedly.” Partial separations to horizontal folds, a small tear to right edge, missing lower right corner, and irregular toning to upper portion of reverse, otherwise fine condition.
