Description

Douglas Sirk

German film director (1897–1987) best known for his work in 1950s Hollywood melodramas, including Imitation of Life and Written on the Wind. Vintage glossy 6.75 x 9 photo of Sirk sitting with Marianne Koch during production of the 1957 film Interlude, signed in blue ballpoint, “Douglas Sirk, mit besten wunschen [with best wishes].” Reverse bears a Universal International photography stamp and an affixed German photo caption. Slight creasing to corners, a faint paperclip impression to top edge, and irregular ink adhesion, otherwise fine condition. Anything signed by Sirk is difficult to find, this being only the second such that we have offered. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
