Nugent’s own gold record for his first live album

Official floater-style RIAA gold sales award presented “to Ted Nugent to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the Epic Records. long-playing record album ‘Double Live Gonzo!’” Framed with its disc, plate, and a small image of the album cover to an overall size of 16.75 x 20.75. Award retains the metal top hanger on the reverse of the frame and the paper backing detached but re-taped around the edges, with maker’s labels absent. In fine condition, with some chipping to the frame. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed in black felt tip by Ted Nugent, stating that the award was part of his personal collection. Released in 1978, Double Live Gonzo! included classic live versions of Nugent’s hits including ‘Stranglehold,’ and ‘Cat Scratch Fever,’ and ‘Yank Me, Crank Me,’ the latter of which hit the Billboard Hot 100. The album itself hit the charts in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Sweden, and eventually went triple-platinum. This award represents the first of Double Live Gonzo!‘s RIAA certifications on its way toward over three million sales. Pre-certified REAL.
