ALS signed “Wellington,” one page, 4.5 x 7.25, September 11, 1846. Letter to a gentleman. In part: “Matters are in a very awkward state; and I don’t see my way out of there.” Also addressed on the reverse of the second integral page in Wellington’s hand, initialed “W” in the lower left corner. Attractively double-suede-matted and framed unfolded beside a handsome portrait to an overall size of 24.5 x 15.25. In fine condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature) and a few areas of toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
