Harry A. Blackmun

Two TLSs, each one page, 8.5 x 11, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, 1988 and 1992. Letters to Steven E. Schier, professor of political science at Carleton College. Both concern arranging visits to meet with his students during trips to Washington, D.C. One, in part: “Because your group comes from Minnesota, I shall try to work in an hour for you once again.” One letter bears several notations in another hand regarding the arrangements. In overall fine condition. A Minnesota native, Blackmun grew up in Saint Paul and held academic and legal positions at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul College of Law, and Mayo Clinic before becoming a judge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
