Versatile German scientist (1821–1894) known for his discoveries related to visual and aural perception, electrodynamics, and the conservation of energy. ALS in German, signed “H. Helmholtz,” one page, 5.5 x 8.5, January 4, 1865. Letter to Emil du Bois-Reymond. In full (translated): "Postscript to yesterday’s letters: The money thing is already done; it was money that had been forwarded to your brother.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
