Description

Charles Garnier

French architect (1825–1898) known for the Palais Garnier and the Opera de Monte-Carlo. Two ALSs in French, signed “Ch. Garnier,” each one page, 5.25 x 8, dated 1868 and 1881. The first, in part (translated): "All you want, dear friend, as it will honor artists, I will be there…I will be happy because I have a high regard for Brascassat.” The second, in part (translated): "I send you back Marot’s book…which was very useful.” In overall very good condition, with intersecting folds passing through the signatures, toning, and a large toned piece of tape across the top of the earlier letter. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
