ALS signed “Mike,” adding “G. S. Cochrane” below, two pages, 7.25 x 10.5, December 1, 1944. Letter to his wife, written while serving as lieutenant commander in the Navy, in part: “Crosby–Day & Company are putting on a show so it should be pretty good. At least it will be a change. Things are still fouled up and I have written up that letter that I was talking about and if you send the word I will send it along…Am without transportation again as I lost the jeep when I was transferred so am back on foot again while my rooms mate runs around the place in his car….Will be listening to the Army–Navy game tomorrow and I sure would like to be there—probably be the best game of the year. Will bring back some memories of the many games we saw together in Philly.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds and a central vertical crease running halfway down the second page. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, written in Cochrane’s hand and incorporating his signature in the address, “Mrs. Gordon Cochrane.” Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA.
