TLS signed “G. W. Carver,” one page, 8 x 10.75, The George Washington Carver Foundation letterhead, March 23, 1942. Letter to Harvey J. Hill, in part: “How my heart goes out to you especially at this time. I can so thoroughly understand what it means in the loss of your beloved father...I had a wonderful visit last Saturday from our mutual friends, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford. I didn’t know just when they were coming until late Friday, and then it rained all night Friday and nearly all day Saturday. It poured, but they came and had a wonderful time. Mr. Ford and I went over a large number of things we hope to carry out.” Intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), areas of surface loss to lower portion, and a magazine photo of the George Washington Carver museum affixed to upper right, otherwise fine condition.
