Description

Empress Maria Feodorovna

Second wife of Tsar Paul I of Russia and mother of Tsar Alexander I and Tsar Nicholas I of Russia (1759–1828). Handwritten endorsement in Cyrillic, “I allow, Maria,” at the top of a one-page manuscript document, also in Cyrillic, one page, 8.25 x 12.75, January 14, 1828. Maria grants permission to director to provide three orphans to head of house of learning trades. Expected document wear, a slit down the left side, and pencil notations affecting the end of the signature, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
